Finnly Louis Cormier's Baptism

In the tradition of the Cormier family, Finnly was baptized over Christmas at the Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham, MA. His Godparents are Michael and Mark Cormier, Erik’s brothers. Most of Erik’s family made the trip down to Cape Cod for the event! And my Uncle Ron, Susan and the girls were in Lexington visiting my Aunt Susan’s family, so they also attended. Finnly was stunning in his white dress and bonnet... and he couldn’t help razzing and making silly noises during the ceremony...but never cried. Grandpa and Gram C had a little party at their Cape house afterwards and we all enjoyed pulled pork sandwiches and lots of Wii Tiger Wood Golf!

Christmas in Cape Cod 2009

Finnly and I arrived to Cape Cod before Erik and Finn was met with a new ride! He quickly learned how to cruz around the house in his new red car, and loved every minute!

Within the First few days with Grandpa and Grandma Cormier, Finn learned to crawl! His

motivation was Grandma C’s reading glasses! Glasses and remote controls are definitely

Finn’s favorite things...He will try almost anything in the hopes to chew on either of these.

He started crawling on the carpet and then moved on to the hardwood floors... they were a little

slippery, so we tried to make knee pads! They didn’t work, but he soon figured out how to maneuver across the floors.

A blizzard went through Chatham Ma during our first week. It snowed about 2 feet... which made for some great pics and a very cozy Christmas! We hunkered down, made lots of fires and Finn entertained us :-) As soon as the storm passed, we rushed Finn into some warm clothes and broke out the camera...

Christmas Eve...

The Family gathered at the Cormier’s cape House for Christmas Eve this year. We played lots of fun games and had many laughs. Finn played with his cousin Caleb and many cousins, aunts and uncles...and was a good sport when we had him wear rain deer antlers for the cousins family photo...

Finn's First 49er Game!

Finn Bug attended his first 49er “Thursday Night” game... he brought the struggling team some good luck! In a very painful way, they beat the Chicago Bears 10-6.

We got to Candlestick Stadium early for little tail gate action...My uncle Ronny, my mom, Cory and Katie Wagner joined Erik, Finn and I. We all had burgers and beer... except for Katie, because she announced that she was expecting! YAYA :-)

When we got to our seats, Finn Bug was a little scared of all the noise. Bachan Janice and then I held him tight and by the end of the first quarter, he was sound asleep... and slept though the entire game... screaming fans and all!

Finn's first bites

For the past month, Finn has been very interested in what Mommy and Daddy are eating.  If he’s in a “mood,” eating an apple in front of him is pure entertainment... So, Erik and I have been anticipating the 6 month mark for a bit now... the time to feed our little Finn “solids!”  After reading various books on baby nutrition, what to feed, how much to feed, when, where... and more.  We opted for bananas, in his highchair, in our kitchen at 6 months and 1 week.

His first bite was met with a quiver...like when you eat something you hate... and then he started to enjoy the tasty banana... and the next day sweet potato... and beyond!

the next day, sugar pumpkin with dad...

This little 6 month cherub paid me a visit today. His second since his newborn pics and my has he grown! He was oh so yummy. I just wanted to eat up his cute little rolls. He was quick to smile at my silly antics and I just fell in love with the way he played with his right ear and stuck his tongue out at me. Mommy says that those are his favorite antics these days. How dog gone cute is that! Heavy sigh....I love what I do and I'm a lucky girl to get such sweet time with little ones such as this one.

Finn's First Summer in Cape Cod

As many of you know and witnessed, Erik and I were married in Cape Cod in 2006...and Erik spent most of his summers growing up on the Cape beaches.  It holds a special place in both our hearts, so we were very excited for Finn to spend his first of many summer months “On the Cape.”  We stayed at Erik’s parents house in Chatham MA, “Our Lil Corner...” as they like to call it... although the little corner house was transformed into an amazing and elegant not so little house last year.  While visiting, we went on many day trips around the Cape... heading to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket along with Wellfleet Hyannis and Osterville.  Finn was quite the traveler... we also spent many days at Hardings beach in Chatham... Grandma Cormier had saved a baby beach chair that Michael used many summers back... it was perfect.  It had a huge umbrella attached to keep the sun and wind from Finn’s face... see to the right....
We had lots of drinks at Chatham Bars Inn and many great cook outs at the Cormier’s house.  Finn was serenaded with family while visiting.  He got to meet all his Great Aunts, Cousins and friends.
The Cormier grandparents were kind enough to watch Finn a few nights while Erik and I got a night out... here’s Grandma’s C’s memory of one night..
“You can just imagine how excited we both were to have our little first grandson all to ourselves.  Your Mom put a bottle for you in the fridge and then off your Mom and Dad went to Squire's for a drink.
We put you on Grandma's bed, you kicked and waved your arms, cracked smiles all the time. You were wearing your Chatham guard T-shirt and your striped pants.  So cute!
Then we decided to try the swing outdoors on the deck, but you were not fond of that swing.  So, we tried the activity center with your favorite giraffe!  More smiles!
Phone call from Mom and Dad: They had stuffed quahogs and finished there first drink, and wondered if they could stay for clam chowder..... Of course!  Finn is fine!
We sat on the couch together and cuddled and watched some tv, we were in heaven!
Another phone call from your parents::: everything is fine,, Just relax!
Shortly after that phone call, you started to get fussy, so Grandpa picked you up and walked you around the house, while Grandma heated your bottle.
Getting a little more restless, so grandma feeds you the bottle, the first minute you were interested, then all heck broke lose!!  You were sooooooooooo angry with that bottle, screaming like a wild man, we tried walking again, NO WAY! Tried the bottle again, even squirted it in your mouth, you spit it right back at me.
Phone call from Mom and Dad:  GET HOME NOW!”
