field of pumpkins...

For the last 2 years, my uncle Maurice and partner Geni have been living in the same farm house that Erik and I called home a few years back. However, unlike us, they have embraced farm living and actually have farmers working the land and growing a variety of fabulous pumpkins and squash! Lucky for us, we get to participate in the pumpkin harvest...This year, harvest happened to fall on one of the hottest days of the summer. SO, our harvest was short and sweat. Erik running around the field with clippers and me screaming "just pick the big ones...it's too hot!" Willow, Lilly and Benjamin were also at the harvest, Benjamin helped Erik find the good pumpkins and made sure Finn didn't get lost amongst the leaves. We came home with a variety of home grown pumpkins ready to carve for Halloween and headed to the beach to cool off!

Chrissy and Rick's Wedding...

Rick and Chrissy transformed their backyard into a beautiful setting for their wedding... complete with an outdoor kitchen, brick pizza oven, smoker and all...it looked amazing! When we arrived at the house, Rick was covered in dirt, on his hands and knees in the backyard installing something important :-) You could tell that this was a peak into many past weekends of theirs. The couple put a lot of sweat and I'm sure some tears into their house in preparation for the wedding! It didn't go unnoticed... The ceremony and reception was personal, casual and tons of fun, just as they are... and no Boston wedding is complete without the bride and groom being introduced as man and wife to the same announcement that was made when the Red Sox won the world series in 2004! Although Chrissy had some reservations about the DJ... and when first meeting him, so did I... he ended up to be pretty hip!!! He got EVERYONE dancing which was so much fun...The party continued at the XYZ bar at the hotel that we were staying at... On our drive back to the Cape, Erik couldn't stop talking about how much he liked everyone at the wedding... especially Rick's brothers :-) It's not often that he gets to socialize with an entire wedding full of die hard Red Sox fans... poor guy. Congrats to my very dear friend Chrissy and her groom Rick... formally known as "Dicky."

Guess who's getting married?
Bacholorette party...We took a limo from Chrissy's house to Tangierino, a Moroccan Chop house for some yummy spices and belly dancers... and then to "Clink" at the Liberty Hotel... for some "posh" drinks in white chairs. Then to

The celebration of Chrissy and Rick's wedding began at one of my favorite Cape Beaches "The Beachcomber!" It was called "Cricky" in celebration of Rick and Chrissy... a bus was rented, lots of booze was drank and we all made it home safe :-)
