getting ready for Christmas

This was the first year that Finn started to understand what Christmas is.  Well... the 2.5 year old version of it.  Santa, Snowmen and the Elf on the Shelf. He was most into making a gingerbread house.  However, I caught Erik eating candy off the house more then Finn!

Finn and his balance bike

It took one trip to the pump park and Finn was hooked on his scoot bike! He rides all over town, either trailing behind Erik on his bike or me chasing him with Colin in the BOB.  He also likes to "fix" his bike... boys and their toys :-)

Maui 2011

After 5 years of marriage and 2 kids, Erik and I decided we deserved a vacation!!! Our last "true" vacation was our honeymoon...So off to Maui we went.  A car FULL of luggage/strollers/baby stuff, my parents and our friends the Wagners.  We had so much stuff, someone at the airport asked if we were moving.  Not so funny when you actually need all the stuff :-) We had to upgrade to a suburban from a minivan... and just barely fit! Poor Finn had to sit in the back with all the luggage :-)

Our first stop was Hana. My dear friend Cara Mancini arranged for us to stay in her parents condo a the Hana Hotel... It was amazing!  The hotel grounds were beautiful and relaxing... a perfect start to a vacation.  Erik and I spoiled ourselves at the spa and my mom convinced Erik that road side food vendors was the way to go in Hana... Although hiking is one of the best things to do, because of little Colin, we only made it 99 percent of the way through the bamboo forest... We'll save the other hikes until the babies are a little older.

This was in the lobby in Hana...Finn was in banana heaven!

My mom's favorite road side market...hmmm said Erik.

After a wonderful 3 days in Hana... it was off to Kaanapali to the Hanua Kai Resort.

After one teaser day of sun, it rained the next.  However, the boys had fun in the rooms playing and making baby Colin laugh.

Finn discovered the freedom of wearing a life vest

And then the sun arrived!

My parents babysat all three kids, so we could eat at Mama's Fish house!

Another Mai Tai please!

Even though our flight was canceled, we got to spend another day in paradise!

But the boys were ready to go home :-)
