Halloween 2011

This year, instead of laboring in the pumpkin fields finding and picking our pumpkins, we got them at the pumpkin patch farm... proving to be a much easier task, thus we left with a trunk FULL of beautiful pumpkins of all sizes, shapes and kinds.

This is Finn's wagon... if it were up to him, this is the only pumpkin we would have gotten... but that was not going to do for Erik...

Table setting for our Fall Dinner party!

We hosted our meetup playgroups Halloween party this year!

about 1 minute after the last guest left the party...

About 1 month prior to Halloween, I found a great Buzz lightyear costume at a local kids store... we hung it up, and for DAYS tried to get Finn to wear it... We got him into it 2 for about 1 minute... it seemed hopeless.  If asked what his was going to be for Halloween, he'd say "Buzz." However,  the only "costume" we could get him to wear for both our Halloween party and the Capitola Halloween parade was a soccer outfit Fletcher had brought back from London... AND then about 4pm on Halloween, our neighbors, Dillon and Cole (both 5yrs) came over in their costumes, and Finn said "i want my Buzz costume!"  He put it on and that was it.  All he needed was a little peer pressure :-)

Dean's Very Hungry Caterpillar Quilt!

It took some sweat and tears... but a year and a half later, it was worth the wait. It turned out super cute... hopefully Dean likes it too!

cormier family visit & ben and lindsey's surprise wedding!

Ben, a long time friend of Erik and the officient at our wedding, called to tell us of his plan to have a surprise wedding! Lindsey and him planned to host an engagment party... and surprise everyone with an annoucement that the party was really their wedding!  We couldn't miss the event... so we bought our plane tickets, packed the kids, loaded our ipads with movies and headed across the county to CT.  The trip also doubled as Colin's meeting of his uncles, aunties and cousins.

Uncle Mike and to-be Aunt Jen making breakfest...

 Finn and Erik enjoying it...

the musical giraffe did wonders for Colin's naps.

Finn celebrating the puzzle being put together!

At the skate park for Benjamin's birthday party

Erik and I tested the waters with three kids by offering to watch Dean for the morning...Finn was excited to have Dean sit next to him in the car and to this day, calls his extra car seat, "Dean's car seat."  We packed the car up and took them to Benjamin's birthday party at the skate park.  Dean rode Finn's old sit and scoot, which he enjoyed aside from the helmet :-) and Finn tested his new scoot bike...they were pretty cute together and we survived the test :-)
